“Welcome Spring” Tea Party

March 15, 2013 by Tracey 4 Comments

I like to plan one fun homeschool day each month.  For March, we’re going to celebrate the first day of Spring on Wednesday by having a tea party.

Beforehand, I’ll decorate the table with my yellow tablecloth, small white candles, and a vase of carnations (which happen to be on sale at the grocery store this week!) The girls and I are going to make these Spring Chinese Lanterns to hang above the table.

I’ll use my small white teapot, glass punch cups, and pink paper plates (leftover from Valentine’s Day) and serve the food on white cake stands and platters.

And speaking of food….we’ll have small rolls with ham and cheese, fresh fruit, homemade cheese crackers served in pastel-colored muffin papers, and Best Ever Butter Cookies. Since neither the girls nor I like tea, we’ll be drinking lemonade instead.

I’d like to find a couple of spring-themed crafts we could do, so please let me know if you have any ideas!

How fun! Pinterest is full of fun spring craft. We decorated our walls with ladybugs and bees (animals that the girls loves) it was fun!

Hope you get to make the lanterns! I think it will be a fun project for us to do together.
