Saturday Salutes ~ Advice for Tired Moms of Teens and Fun Snow Activities (With or Without the Snow)

January 19, 2019 by Tracey 6 Comments

Last Saturday, I mentioned that this was Spirit Week at the girls’ school. Here’s my older daughter (on the left) with her friend dressed as Dora and Diego for “Dynamic Duo” day.

Rachel writes hey, tired mom of teens, this is for you. And from where I sit as a mom of teens, let me just say that six weeks into parenting an 18-year-old, 18 is my favorite year of all the teenage ones so far!!

Mary shares advice for When You Want This to Be Your Best Year Yet.

Ashley lists 5 Tips for Better Marriage Communication.

Shannon has Snow Activities for Families Living in Warm Climates (although I think these sound fun even if you have actual snow outside!)

I loved this list of 24 Unforgettable Birthday Traditions.

And then there’s this t-shirt that might be appropriate for me to wear some days!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Tracey, your girls are adorable! And I NEED that t-shirt! Thinking of you in this full-on senior-year season!

Thank you, Elizabeth!! This senior-year thing is fun, exciting, joy-filled, and sad all at the same time! So much to plan ahead for while still trying to be fully present in the moments that are happening today. I know you understand since you’ve so recently walked this road yourself!

Oh, I need that shirt, too! 🙂 I won’t say that your daughter is cute (because she probably wouldn’t appreciate it), but the idea is very cute!

The snow activities look fun as do some of the birthday traditions. Since we have three birthdays coming up soon, I may have to try some out. 🙂

Definitely going to be birthday season at your house soon! Since we did our trip to NYC as the girls’ birthday celebration this year, I didn’t do much of anything here at home. However, I did get them each three birthday balloons from the Dollar Tree and put those in their bedrooms so they’d see them when they woke up on their birthday morning. My younger daughter’s balloons are still in her room, mostly still inflated – and her birthday was December 3rd! I’d say I definitely got my money’s worth out of those 😉

    Dora the Explorer is adorable!

“hey tired mom of teens” = perfect.

“January is weird. Making goals and starting new creates conflicting emotions.” – I have ALWAYS felt this!!!
