Spring has arrived!
Stacey talks about Finding Unshakable Hope in the Middle of Your Mess.
Brooke lists 9 Totally Awesome Things to do for Someone on Bed Rest.
I love Kimberly’s Gratitude Scavenger Hunt for Kids. Would likely be a good game for the whole family!
Family Life Today’s episode with Jen Wilkins about our children’s Possessions, Entertainment, and Friends was one of my favorite podcasts this week. This one was actually part of a series, and all of the episodes were good!
I finished two books this month, one fiction and one non-fiction.
Since I had some alone time in my motel room during our daughters’ fine arts competition, along with spare time between their events, I read most of Isaiah’s Daughter by Mesu Andrews while I was in Greenville. It’s a fiction book based on Bible passages from that time period. It dealt with much of the reign of Hezekiah, and his interactions with the prophet Isaiah. I haven’t studied much about this time period, and found the story to be interesting and informative. This style of writing definitely makes you think more about what their daily lives were actually like, beyond the parts of their stories we read about in the Bible.
Earlier this week I finished Tough Guys and Drama Queens: How Not to Get Blindsided by Your Child’s Teen Years by Mark Gregston. I’ve listened to Mark’s podcast Parenting Today’s Teens for quite awhile now, and this book had similar, practical advice for parents of teenagers. Like most books, I wouldn’t necessarily agree with everything he wrote, but I definitely found some helpful advice!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
Ahhh, Tracey! I’ve been doing some research on podcasts relating to parenting teens, so this post is perfect! As always, when I visit your site, I find something I need. 🙂
Thanks, Elizabeth! Hope you and your family are well!!
“Finding Unshakable Hope in the Middle of Your Mess” – beautiful!!!
“The Best Gratitude Scavenger Hunt for Kids and Adults” – OH MY GOSH!!! Lovelovelove this!!!!!
I appreciated the suggestions to help someone on bed rest; although most of my friends are past the childbearing age, those suggestions still might come in handy for another type of bed rest.
I loved Isaiah’s Daughter! What a wonderful book! I’m glad you enjoyed it, too!
Thank you for sharing on your blog what a good book it was!! 🙂
