One of several mountain streams we visited during our trip to the NC mountains last weekend. The sound of running water is so peaceful!
Elizabeth lists 13 Things to Say to Your Kids When They’re Having a Bad Day. (I actually printed these out so I could refer to them often!)
Melanie tells us The Truth About Owning a White Couch.
Sally talks about Sunday: An Anchor in Our Week.
Sarah Ann writes about How to Keep Your Marriage from Being Hijacked by Your Kids.
I was interested to read about Nikki’s recent family trip to Washington, DC, and their history tour with Landmark Events. If you’re into history – and would like your kids to learn more about past events from a Christian viewpoint – you may want to check out this company. Here’s a list of their upcoming events.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you for sharing those 13 Things to Say to Your Kids! Will is going through a rough patch lately, and these will be edifying for him!
Yes, they’re perfect for my girls when they hit a rough patch, too!!
Hi, Sues! I just wanted to thank you for taking time to read my little “13 Things” list–and to say I’m sorry about the “rough patch” for your son. Those patches are so hard on our kids–AND on us as moms. Now that my girls are teenagers, I’ve been through a few of these, and everything has always worked out (hence, #9), but the wait and work on the way to okay can be brutal. God’s blessings and strength to you as you support and encourage your son!
Thanks for the shout out! This is a great company, and I want to get the word out about them as much as possible!
I enjoyed the white couch post. Oh, my! That was funny!
And the 13 things to say to your kids, yes! Especially the last one about ice cream. Or maybe that’s just when I’m having a bad day. 😉
I so appreciate you letting me know about Landmark Events. I’m definitely going to make sure my sister knows about the Shenandoah Valley tour as well as the Richmond one. She really loves American history, and both of those would be fairly close to where she and her family live.
Hi, Nikki! I just wanted to chime in and say that I’m a big fan of #13 myself…and NOT just for my children. Ice cream therapy is a thing. 🙂 Thank you so much for taking time to read my little list!
AWWWW! Tracey, thank you SO much for your sweet “salute” for my little 13 Things piece! Truly, I don’t really want any of my fellow moms to need these, because who among us wants our kids to be having a bad day? But, such is life on this earth, so if any of these can help out, I’m so glad. It was funny: after I posted that list, I found myself using all 13 at various points over the course of the week. Which did mean my girls had some less-than-glorious days, but at least I was practicing what I posted! 😉 Anyway, thank you for this honor and blessing! P.S. I LOVED your recap of your family trip and am now completely craving pumpkin butter on a biscuit. Neither of which I have in the house right now, so this is not looking promising…
P.S. I am not even kidding: we were just talking about white furniture in my ladies’ Bible study group the other day. I am sharing that article on our closed group page right this minute. 😉
