Wouldn’t be a Saturday Salutes if I didn’t highlight a post from Elizabeth! This week’s favorite is Ten Things Girl Moms Have to Look Forward To (Really!)
Laura writes about Missing My Babies: 5 Things That Surprise Me Most.
Excited about taking my girls to hear The Piano Guys tonight! My 16-year-old has been looking forward to this for a long time!!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
Tracey, seriously, you are more mood-enhancing than an antidepressant and more wisdom-giving than a counselor. Thank you, thank you, for encouraging my weary blogger’s heart with your sweet shout-out! I am truly humbled and honored.
In other news: 1) I love your new look and features! If I ever decide to upgrade as a blogger, I’ll know who to come to for advice. (Will pay you with overnight cookie shipments.) 2)AHHH! The Piano Guys! LOVE the song you featured here! Love them! Have a wonderful time seeing and hearing them with your girls…can’t wait to hear all about it! (Am trying not to be too jealous.) 3)WOW, that piece about communicating with your teen was packed! So, now it’s also pinned. 🙂
Thank you for getting my Saturday off to a super start. (Sorry for the alliteration overload.) Have a fabulous day!
Thank you for your kind comments about the new blog look! Still playing around with it, but getting used to what I can change and what I can’t (kind of like life, huh??!! 😉
My older daughter had been stalking The Piano Guys tour locations for at least a year, but the closest they’d come to us was Charlotte, NC (about 3 hours away) – and we’d already had something scheduled for that date. She finally saw the Charleston date released last fall, and we bought tickets when they went on pre-sale! It’s a girls night out for the three of us, so I think it will be lots of fun!
Have a wonderful Saturday!!
Oooh, the Piano Guys! How fun! Did you enjoy it as much as you hoped?
Not to be critical, but most of your links this week don’t apply too much to me. 🙂 But I enjoyed reading the perspective of mothers with older children — as I take the lego from Hannah (1) before she can put it in her mouth. 🙂
The Piano Guys did a great show!!! All three of us enjoyed it so much! They played all the songs my daughters had hoped to hear. It was about a 2 1/2 hour show, but we would have happily sat through another hour 🙂
Hopefully I’ll find a wider range of posts to share this Saturday 🙂
I hope you didn’t think I was complaining because I wasn’t — although as I reread my comment it does sound that way. I’m sorry. I do enjoy reading about the perspectives of parents with older children, although I don’t always believe that I’ll miss — or enjoy — what they say I will. 🙂
Oh, don’t worry about that – I knew you weren’t really complaining. And honestly, I don’t think you will miss everything that other moms say you will 😉 I was just listening to a podcast where a lady talked about missing her kids waking her up in the middle of the night ’cause they had a nightmare and wanted to snuggle with her. I can’t say that I’ve ever really missed being woken up in the middle of the night, for whatever reason 🙂
No, I don’t miss being woken up in the middle of the night, either! Even though Hannah has been sleeping through the night for almost a year now, it’s just been in the last few months that I’ve stopped thanking God every morning that she slept through the night. I’ve just forgotten!
OMIGOSH! I just realized I’m not getting notices from your blog in my reader feed anymore! I’ve missed so much!!! :-O
Re: Missing My Babies – that’s exactly how I felt when Will had his random fever sick day the other week! I loved it!!!
Sorry my blog’s not showing up in your reader feed anymore! Guessing it has something to do with the switch I made to WordPress. It may help if you re-subscribe to the feed??? Have a great day!!!
