Well, here are the results – my older daughter's handbell choir and handbell ensemble got first place, so they will get to go to the national competition next month. My younger daughter got second place with her classical piano piece.

My younger daughter also won a spelling bee and got a couple of other awards for academic testing. It was all quite exciting (and a bit exhausting, too πŸ˜‰

Wishing you and your family a happy and blessed Easter!! Thanks for being such a faithful and encouraging blog reader and friend!!!

I echo Sues' comment: I can't wait to hear about the fine art competition! It sounds as if we have another thing in common there, Tracey: we just finished a massive weekend with my teen at State Solo & Ensemble, and now we're gearing up for our tween to go for the first time in a couple weeks. I know how stressful these events can be on the performers' mom, so know that I'm thinking of you. πŸ˜‰ May your Easter be filled with joy and hope!

So neat to know that you understand all the emotions involved when your daughters perform!! My older daughter's handbell choir and handbell ensemble got first place, so they will get to go to the national competition next month. My younger daughter got second place with her classical piano piece.

They also had academic competitions, and my younger daughter won the spelling bee and got a couple of other awards for academic testing. I feel so blessed to be able to attend their events and cheer them on! I think many life lessons can be learned through these experiences.

Hope you and your family have a blessed Easter!!

Wow! Congratulations to your girls…and to their nerves-of-steel mom! I am so with you on the blessing of being able to witness these moments. Priceless, really. And worth all those emotions you mentioned! πŸ˜‰ P.S. The book "And Then I Had Teenagers" (or something close to that) you wrote about in a earlier post is waiting for me at our library…can't wait to dig into it over spring break!
