Modesty Resources

Easter Outfits 2013

Dressing modestly is an activity that requires quite a bit of work these days!  I wanted to share a few resources I’ve found to encourage me in helping my daughters and I find modest and stylish clothing.

First of all, I like to keep track of modest outfit ideas on my Pinterest Fashion Board.  This gives me ideas of pieces to look for when I go shopping.

Finding appropriate shirts can be a struggle, so I appreciated Courtney’s video on how she uses tank tops to make her tops more modest.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed Lisa’s series on modesty at Pennington Post.  Lisa and her daughters put together unique and charming outfits!

Caroline’s Modest Monday posts also show what she’s wearing each week and often highlight pieces from her online store.

I’ve had my HydroChic swimsuit for over three years now and I love it!  Yes, it was pricey, but it’s held up well.  Lisa also wrote a Swimsuit Edition modesty post full of ideas for modest swimwear.

I’d love to know if you have other resources that encourage you in dressing modestly!

Thanks for these links! It's becoming harder and harder for me to find modest clothing for the girls as they are getting taller!

I don't usually need resources like this, because I'm able to sew clothes for my daughter, however this is a really handy list – thank you!
Maybe I should sew modest clothes for young girls and sell them in my etsy shop…. An idea to think on… 🙂

I say "yes" to that!! Don't ask me how many times I've wished I could sew simple skirts or other clothes for my girls!

Modesty have been on my mind lately, I found that in the last few years I lost who I was, trying to dress in a way others thought that was modest.

Abiding to certain rules that were not really biblical.

Their is joy in dressing to look you best, that makes you approachable and yet won't make your brother stumble. I found myself in bold colors, bright pattern, like painting on a fresh canvass, so is getting dress each morning.

How right you are – modesty should be based on Biblical principles. If our hearts are seeking to please God in how we dress, I truly believe that He will lead us in this area just as He does in so many others. As you also mentioned, we do want to make sure we are not causing our Christian brothers (or other men) to stumble by what we wear.

I love how you've figured out what you like and what makes it fun for you to get dressed in the morning!! As women, it does make us feel good when we are dressed to look our best!

Thanks! Pinning outfits that I like has really been a help when I go shopping. I can narrow down what I'm looking for to pieces and styles that I already know I'm attracted to and that will (hopefully!) look good on me.
