I’m afraid that our more relaxed summer schedule has dealt a blow to my reading time! I only finished four books this month – two fiction and two non-fiction. However, the last two were on my 2013 reading list, which means I have just one book left. Actually, it is Stepping Heavenward and I’m reading that aloud to our daughters at bedtime. It’s just as refreshing and convicting as it was the first time I read it!
So, here’s my reading for last month.
- The Rescuer by Dee Henderson. I finished this last book in the series.
- The Deposit Slip by Todd M. Johnson. This was an exciting fiction read – one of those that had me skipping ahead to see how it ended!
- The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit by R.A. Torrey. I really enjoyed the first half of this book, but didn’t necessarily agree with some of what he taught in the second half.
- The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth by John C. Maxwell. I discovered this book last year and plan to read it through at least once a year. Done for 2013!
I just started reading Passionate Parenting: Enjoying the Journey of Parenting Teens by Cary Schmidt. One of my brothers recommended this book and I’m already finding it very helpful. I’ll share a full report next month.
The girls and I have almost finished our first read-aloud for the summer – The Borrowers by Mary Norton. We liked it enough that we might read some of the others in the series.
What have you been reading lately?
Reading four books isn't nothing! You did well! And you only have one book left in your reading list; you must be more disciplined than I am.
I'm going to continue the Dee Henderson series which I had kind of forgotten about except for your reviews. And you can't stop with the first Borrower book!
Yes – I've already requested the next couple of Borrowers books at the library so we can pick them up next week. 🙂
