Saturday Salutes

June 30, 2012 by Tracey 7 Comments

I hope I would have the courage to do what Lisa did in A Spark of Bravery.

When I was the mom of a toddler, I ascribed to Lisa’s advice in Pick Your Battles.

Christy’s Smoked Ham and Veggies Pasta Salad sounds very refreshing today!

Look what arrived yesterday.

Yes, it’s all of our textbooks for the next school year.  Just another reminder that summer is passing by swiftly!

We’re off for an early morning trip to the beach.  Have a wonderful weekend!

We're expecting a similar box very soon! πŸ™‚

An early morning trip to the beach sounds delightful! It was about 107 degrees here the past couple of days ~ thinking swimming or running in the sprinkler are in order today. πŸ™‚

Blessings to you and your family~

Yes, it's been quite hot here, too!

The beach was nice this morning. I'm somewhat paranoid about anyone getting sunburned, so my main task is to make sure everyone is applying sunscreen regularly. πŸ™‚

Our air conditioner has been acting up, but we're so thankful that it's at least working intermittently – enough to cool down the house before it quits again. We know what's wrong with it, but can't get the part until Monday or Tuesday.

      Have a nice night!

What curriculum are you using? Trying to decide between HOD and CLE for 2013-2014 school year, which will be our 1st year homeschooling.

      Monique,

We mostly use the A Beka curriculum, though I supplement with other things here and there. I used to teach, so am familiar with that curriculum and find it very easy to follow – especially since last year was our first year of homeschooling, with our daughters having previously been in a Christian school for several years.

Sounds like you're getting a head start on researching curriculums – great work! πŸ™‚ Hope you are able to find what works well for your family.

I'm expecting our math curriculum for next year soon, too, and I'm looking forward to it. It's almost like Christmas!

Oh, and I hope my children feel the same way!

My girls helped me unpack the boxes – and they really wanted to start reading their reading books, but I'm making them wait for now. I am glad they love reading that much, though!
