Saturday Salutes

February 26, 2011 by Tracey 12 Comments

Lydia shares her heart and some great advice in Six Steps to Mindful Mothering at Smalltown Simplicity.

You can download a free ebook on Time Management from Crystal at Money Saving Mom. I’ve only scanned the table of contents, but plan to read it this weekend. Also, I tried her Cinnamon Swirl Bread recipe last week and it was fabulous! Between my ten-year-old and I, we devoured the whole loaf in about two days.

Sarah at Scott School found an inexpensive and fun way to boost her son’s reading and spelling skills.

At Fearfully and Wonderfully Made, I found Melissa’s post on getting through this first year after losing her mother so touching.

We’re off for another family outing today. I know, I know, two weeks in a row! This one even includes a picnic lunch. (I’m not typically a big “picnic-er;” either bugs or the wind or both tend to send me running inside. But I know our daughters will enjoy it, so an alfresco lunch it is!)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

    Tracey,
I just love your Saturday Salutes! I look forward to all the great tips you share from others. So much gained inspiration. πŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing, and I hope you all have a wonderful day! Sounds just lovely. (I'm the same way with the eating outside thing ;), but the family enjoys it, and I enjoy them)

    Jennifer,

Glad you enjoy the posts I share! I also like finding articles that encourage me in different areas of my life.

Well, I don't think bugs will be much of a problem today, but the sites we're visiting are near the ocean, so I'm expecting breezy conditions!

Hope you have a great Saturday as well!

Enjoy your picnic lunch! Are you going to be outside? It is too cold here yet for picnics or at least this week. LOL! πŸ™‚

I can't wait for picnic season here. My husband loves them so I've slowly become more tolerant of them over the years!

    Sherry,

Yes, we went to a museum, then ate lunch outside at a nearby park, with a playground where our girls could burn off some energy! We ended up eating a late lunch, so the temperature was right around 70 degrees and it was sunny for most of the day. A good time was had by all! πŸ™‚

Hope your day's been a good one as well!

    Andrea,

Good for you! Ours was actually very nice today – only slightly breezy and no insects in sight! πŸ™‚

Sharing my heart about my mom is difficult, as her death is still fresh. But I am so encouraged that God is using this to touch others. Thank you for sharing the link.
