Saturday Salutes

February 19, 2011 by Tracey 6 Comments

Women Living Well was the “must-read” blog for me this week. While I am not currently homeschooling our daughters, I still found Courtney’s series on the subject to be quite instructive and compelling.

She began on Monday with Why We Homeschool and continued throughout the week with other related topics. Friday’s post had some great reminders about sheltering our children, no matter how we choose to school them. [As always, my sharing these links doesn’t imply that I agree with every thing the blogger says, but overall find the information to be worthwhile.]

A special “thank you” to Janet at Frugal and Focused for featuring me in her Saturday Spotlight today! One of the best parts of blogging is “meeting” other moms who are seeking to rear their children for God’s glory.

We are very much looking forward to this three-day weekend! Trusting that yours will be enjoyable as well!

I enjoyed reading her series as well. We have been homeschooling from the beginning. My daughter is now in 4th grade. It was very interesting to take a peek into someone else's homeschooling day.

    Enjoy your weekend,

    Hi Tracey!

What a neat feature at "Frugal and Focused"! 🙂 I think I used to read her blog before…when it was named something different…I think it had the word "dollar" in the title?? Anyway, I agree with her ~ I also felt an instant connection with you on many levels and truly appreciate what you write about!

Also ~ is that the new family picture? What a lovely family ~ the photo turned out great!

    Blessings on your weekend,
    Katie

    Katie,

Thank you, as always, for your kind words! Yes, that's our family picture from this past Christmas. I've been wanting to add it to my blog, but it needs to be sized differently and I haven't had the time to play around with it.

I also enjoyed Courtney's series this past week. We don't homeschool either, so I found Friday, the final installment to be especially encouraging.

Hope you had a great Monday!

    Erin,

Friday's vlog was definitely helpful. We currently send our daughters to a Christian school, but I never want to fall into the trap of believing that just because it's "Christian" I don't have to be on guard about what our children are exposed to or the influences around them.

Our Monday was very nice. Since the girls were out of school, we worked together to spring clean their playroom. Both of them were very helpful and even willing to get rid of some old toys, etc. Now I guess I'm left alone to tackle the rest of the house!
