Family Time

March 30, 2010 by Tracey 3 Comments

Sometimes the allure of a breezy Spring afternoon draws you outdoors, to revel in its beauty and anticipate the balmy days to come.

Such was the case on Friday when, with my husband home from work early and our daughters on spring break from school, we drove to a park we hadn’t previously visited.

We walked down a long pier, stopping to rest on the bench swings or search the water for signs of animals.

There were open grassy areas, perfect for running in circles or – more appropriately on this windy day – kite flying. The large playground with its variety of climbing structures and spinning discs was a hit.

Best of all, there was family. The four of us, spending time together, enjoying each other.

The gift of family makes any day – no matter the season – a treasured one.

Has your family had any fun outings lately? Let me know how you enjoy spending time together!

Lovely outing! We love picnics at parks and nature hikes at the State Park in our town.

Sounds like you had a fabulous day! My kids have been home from college in shifts. They overlapped for a few days and I was trilled.
We didn't do much but just having the four of us together, under one roof, without 20 other friends, is sooo wonderful it truly brings tears to my eyes! OK I may have a little pms so I'm even more sensitive! LOL!!

I have been to that pier, if it is the one that I am thinking of, and my kids have played at that park. Is it a new pier??? If it is the pier I am thinking of; we LOVED the swinging benches and the little seat things you spin but have a hard time getting out of. 😉
    Blessings!
