A Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

October 26, 2009 by Tracey 1 Comment

Last Friday was spent with my daughter’s first grade class on a field trip to a corn maze/pumpkin patch. Since she is my youngest child, I realized that this may be my last official school visit to one of these places. I began to feel a bit sentimental……….just a bit, mind you, as I’ve been to quite a few pumpkin patches as a teacher as well as a parent over the years.

We painted pumpkins, took a hay ride, listened to an educational presentation about animals that live in our area, petted some farm animals, went through a hay-bale maze and ate lunch.

I am thankful for the opportunity to attend field trips with my children. I enjoy sharing these experiences with my daughter as well as spending time getting to know her classmates. On to the next round of excitement – this Friday brings a visit to an air craft carrier with my third grader!

Looks like everyone had fun! I can't wait for Madison's first field trip.
