Since I shared our bedtime routine in last week’s Works for Me Wednesday, I thought I would talk about our morning routine this time. I’ll give you a rundown of what my early morning schedule looks like, then list what the girls do.
5:25 – 5:50 A.M. Get up; shower; dress
5:50 – 6:15 A.M. Bible time/devotions
6:15 – 6:25 A.M. Finish getting ready (hair, makeup)
6:25 – 6:40 A.M. Make sure girls are getting up; fix breakfast
6:40 – 6:55 A.M. Eat breakfast
6:55 – 7:05 A.M. Get breakfast dishes in dishwasher; finish packing lunches
7:05 – 7:15 A.M. Fix girls’ hair; pray with them; head out the door for the drive to school
Here’s what the girls do in the morning.
6:25 – 6:40 A.M. Wake up; make bed; get dressed
6:40 – 7:00 A.M. Eat breakfast; clear place at table
7:00 – 7:05 A.M. Wash face; brush teeth
7:05 – 7:15 A.M. Mom fixes hair, pray together, grab book bag and lunch box and get in the car
It would certainly be lovely if every morning went like clockwork and there were no mad dashes out the door at 7:20 A.M., but at least this plan gives us a place to start when we’re still half asleep! Starting the day with a plan works for me.
