Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake

April 28, 2009 by Tracey 16 Comments

On Saturday my older daughter and I baked this cheesecake – a recipe she had chosen from my recipe box and wanted to make. I could not believe how well it turned out! The texture was very creamy and the cookie dough baked in perfectly. My husband even commented about the amount of money we would have been charged if we ordered this at a restaurant. Let’s just say it was tasty enough that it only lasted the weekend at our house! Now my younger daughter says she wants to make this for her treat next weekend!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake

1 chocolate graham cracker crust (we used Keebler)

Filling:
2 packages (8 ounces each) of cream cheese, softened
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
2/3 cup sour cream
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Cookie Dough:
2 tbsp butter, softened
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp packed brown sugar
1 tbsp water
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips

In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs; beat on low just until combined. Add sour cream and vanilla; beat just until blended. Pour over crust; set aside.

In another mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars on medium speed for two minutes. Add water and vanilla. Gradually add flour. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls over filling, gently pushing dough below surface (dough should be completely covered by filling).

Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until center is almost set. Cool on a wire rack; refrigerate overnight. Sprinkle with additional chocolate chips if desired.

My family has been making and loving traditional cheesecake for years. Just recently, we've started experimenting with others, primarily chocolate-y ones. This definitely sounds like a great one to try and I'm passing on your info to my daughters. Thanks πŸ™‚
