I want to live daily with a grateful attitude. However, celebrating a day dedicated to giving thanks during the month of November helps me focus on it even more than usual.
Between now and Thanksgiving, I’ll be sharing 10 simple ways to show thanks. Each day that I post (except for Saturday Salutes), I’ll give one way to show thanks – and even talk about how to use the idea with kids, if possible.
Number one is a basic place to start.
Choose a friend, family member, church leader, or business person and hand write a personal note, thanking them for who they are and/or what they do. (It’s inexpensive to pick up packs of different thank you cards at the Dollar Tree so that you always have a stash on hand.)
After you write a thank you note, you may want to have your child(ren) write one as well. They could thank a teacher, coach, grandparent, or other relative. For younger children who can’t write, you could have them draw a picture and then dictate to you the words they’d like to convey.
Mail the card or hand deliver it. We’ll start off the month showing our appreciation for a person God has put into our lives and who has influenced us in some way.
Let’s challenge ourselves to be purposefully thankful this month!
