“As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: He is a buckler to all them that trust in Him. For who is God, save the Lord? and who is a rock, save our God? God is my strength and power: and He maketh my way perfect.” ~II Samuel 22:31-33
My word for 2014 is trust. So how’s that working for me almost a quarter of the way through the year?
Right now, it’s taking the form of trusting God for wisdom and discernment in decision making.
We are in the process of making decisions in three different areas – resolving a physical issue, schooling choices for our children, and making a large purchase.
of these decisions are fully resolved, but we’re taking small steps. I’m finding that the
biggest help in learning to trust is prayer. Turning these issues over to the Lord and seeking to rely on Him to give clear direction is the best way I’ve found to get peace. I’m attempting to get on a
daily schedule where I take three specific times during the day
to pray just over these issues.
II Samuel 22, quoted above, has recently become one of my favorite passages. David wrote it and it reads like a Psalm. There is so much encouragement in that chapter!
I wish I could say I live in continual peace and trust, but I’m a work in progress – for which I’m thankful to God! I know that He is faithful and that, in the coming years, I will look back over these months and marvel at His leading.
Is there an area in which you’re currently trying to trust God?
