Flourish

“The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree:  he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.  Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.” ~ Psalm 92:12-13

Flourish means, “To grow well or luxuriantly; thrive.”  Another definition, found online at The Free Dictionary, says, “To be in a period of highest productivity, excellence, or influence.”

I want to flourish as a Christian – not just plod along in mediocrity, but to grow, thrive, and excel at those things that God calls me to do.  In order for that to happen, I must be spending time in Bible reading and prayer and acting on the principles I find in God’s Word.  Reading books written by Godly men and women also encourage me to greater spiritual living.

As moms, how we want our children to flourish!  Be it physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually, we want to help them experience all the good things in life while knowing how to properly handle difficulties that arise. Watching them learn and develop as they mature is truly rewarding for us as parents.

This week, let’s ask God to help us flourish in our walk with Him and do all that we can to help our children flourish as well!

Flourishing has been on my heart a lot! Last night our family prayed together for the coming week then I tried something new. I sat down with Jane and went over our schedule for the week. We talked about all the things that need to be accomplished in our home with a joyful heart. Oh how I desire for Jane to love her home and to manage it with a heart of service! I'm excited to see how God will grow her, and me!!!

      Melissa,

I love the idea of your discussing the management of your home with Jane. What a wonderful example you're setting for her! And, yes, it is amazing how God grows and changes us right along with our children.

Hope you have a lovely week!
