Sometimes in our home, we encounter ATTITUDE.
Occasionally subtle, often not, I am doing my best at learning how to deal with it.
The easiest way? Respond in kind. Lower myself to a childish level by snapping back, replying with sarcasm, or immediately becoming defensive. Definitely not a Spirit-led or Christ-honoring response…
I am slowly realizing that I have to be the adult. I must rise above the immediate situation and handle it calmly, yet effectively, applying consequences if needed and calling upon the stores of that patience that I referred to yesterday!!
I believe cultivating a proper attitude is vitally important in rearing our children; after all, I was brought up on my dad’s philosophy that “attitude is everything.” I foresee this being an ongoing struggle – and how I need wisdom to deal with it!
Any tips you can share for those days when ATTITUDE is around?
