One tip that I know I should follow, especially when it comes to housework, is to do what you dread the most first.
Cleaning the bathroom would be the chore that fits that description for me. I typically do it on Saturday mornings and try to make it the first job I tackle. Having it done early makes my whole day more pleasant.
Weekday tasks are often the same; if I sit down at the computer (enjoyable) before cleaning up the kitchen and straightening up the house (not as enjoyable), then I dread facing what I need to accomplish later on.
We are try to use this principle with my seven-year-old when it comes to eating. Tasting those less-palatable (to her) foods when they’re hot is certainly better than gulping your beloved mashed potatoes and facing cold beans at the end of the meal!
Do you have any housecleaning tips to share? What chore do you dislike the most?
