In the chapter we read last night, I was struck by two separate statements that the author made.
“Nothing in the world is so strong as a kind heart….”
“….the best kind of goodness [is] not to think about yourself, but to
think about other people.”
What a challenge I found in those words for the week ahead! My desire is to demonstrate a kind heart by putting others ahead of myself. Easy to say, difficult to live!
I must not be so task-oriented or bound to my schedule that I fail to notice someone who might be hurting or simply needs a bit of encouragement. It could be a family member or a stranger behind me in the checkout line. Regardless, in the coming days I pray that my eyes will be open and my mind alert to opportunities to show the love of Christ through kindness.
Have you discovered any practical tips that help you remember to focus on others?
