Somehow I’ve ended up with a good many kitchen-themed posts this week! I’m starting off by joining Oh Amanda in Top Ten Tuesday and sharing the top ten items I use in my kitchen. I didn’t include my most-used appliances such as my toaster oven and dishwasher which do, however, get a lot of use!
1. Red plastic batter bowl. I got this in the dollar bin at Target and have been using it for months. I use it for everything from mixing pancake or muffin batter to tossing potatoes in olive oil for my easiest side dish.2. Dry measuring cups. After years of measuring everything in glass liquid measuring cups, I bought a set of these cups at a yard sale. Now I use them all the time and love them!3. Wooden spoon. My favorite item to use when stirring batters and pretty much anything else. I need to just break down and purchase a huge collection of them!4. My favorite baking sheet – too ugly to post a picture of….5. Mini cutting board. That’s my name for it; it matches my counter tops and while I believe it is actually a trivet to be used under hot dishes, I use it as a small cutting board for everything to slicing an apple to chopping a small onion.6. My dutch oven. Another oldie but goodie, it does roasts and stews superbly!7. Mini whisk, great for use in gravies and sauces.8. The same Black & Decker hand mixer I’ve had since we got married almost eighteen years ago!9. My go-to knife
10. Four-piece set of metal measuring spoons just like my mom had when I was growing up!Do you have a few items in your kitchen that get used over and over? Feel free to share with us what they are in the comments section!
